Cancellation & Refund Policy
All cancellation and refund requests must be submitted via email or through our website contact form at least
14 days prior to the camp start date. Requests received less than 14 days before the start date are
not eligible for consideration; the full registration fee will be forfeited.
For cancellations made 14 or more days before the camp start date
-
By default, eligible cancellations will receive camp credit for a future MSC session, less a non-refundable
$40 administrative fee per camper per session. -
If a family prefers a refund instead of credit, a refund to the original payment method may be requested at the
time of cancellation, less a non-refundable $100 administrative cancellation fee per camper per session.
Camp credit
- Is tied to the family’s account and may be applied to eligible future MSC programs.
- Must be used within the timeframe specified by MSC at the time the credit is issued.
- Is non-refundable and cannot be converted back to cash.
After the 14-day cancellation window has passed, families may be eligible for makeup days only in the event of a
documented medical emergency. A doctor’s note or visit summary from a licensed healthcare provider
(MD, DO, NP, or PA) confirming the illness or injury and the affected dates is required. When space allows, MSC will
make every reasonable effort to transfer the camper into a comparable week or program during the same season.
Makeups are subject to availability, are not guaranteed, and have no cash value.
Additional Conditions
-
Campers who voluntarily withdraw or are expelled from camp for behavioral or disciplinary reasons are not eligible
for refunds or credits. -
If a camp session is cancelled by MSC for a non-weather-related reason (for example, low enrollment), families may
transfer enrollment to another available session or location at no penalty, receive camp credit for a future season,
or request a refund. -
No refunds or credits will be issued for days or sessions that are shortened, adjusted, or cancelled due to
inclement weather or other events beyond our control (including, but not limited to, severe weather or other “acts
of God”). As an outdoor marine science program, schedule adjustments for safety are sometimes necessary and are not
the responsibility of MSC, nor are they grounds for refunds or credits.
Transfer Policy
- Transfers to an alternate session may be requested more than 14 days prior to the original camp start date.
- Each approved transfer is subject to a $40 transfer fee per camper to help cover administrative costs.
- Transfers are dependent on availability and the camper’s eligibility for the requested program.
-
Discounts, scholarships, and promotional codes are non-transferable after registration, meaning they cannot be
moved to a different camper, session, or program once applied. - No transfers will be permitted within 14 days of the camp session start date.
Pickup & Drop-Off Policy
- Official camp drop-off and pick-up times are stated at registration.
- A 15-minute grace period is allowed after the scheduled pick-up time.
- After the 15-minute grace period, the following late pick-up fees per camper will apply:
- 16–30 minutes late: $25
- 31–45 minutes late: $40
- 46–60 minutes late: $60
- More than 60 minutes late: $100 plus $2 per additional minute
- Repeated late pick-ups may result in higher fees or dismissal from the program.
- All late fees must be paid promptly.
Attendee and Guardian Code of Conduct
All campers and guardians must:
- Treat fellow campers, staff, animals, equipment, and facilities with respect.
- Comply with safety rules and staff directions at all times.
- Appropriate footwear must be worn daily.
- Guardians will be notified of any behavioral issues.
Persistent problems after an initial warning may result in:
- Temporary removal from activities,
- A required call home, and/or
- Early dismissal from camp.
Serious or repeated behavioral problems—such as ongoing disruption, profanity, physical aggression, theft/damage, or
jeopardizing the safety of self, others, animals, or staff—may result in immediate removal from camp without refund.
Guardians are responsible for any damage to camp property or supplies.
Inclement Weather Policy
- As a marine science program, camp runs rain or shine unless severe weather creates unsafe conditions.
- In such cases, MSC may alter, shorten, or cancel the camp day; families will be notified as early as possible.
- Alternative arrangements, including virtual programming, may be provided at MSC’s discretion.
-
Please see our Cancellation & Refund Policy for details regarding refunds and
credits related to inclement weather and other events beyond our control.
