Celebrating #SharkWeek 🦈 the JAWSOME way, but at marine science camp, it’s Shark Week every week. From dissections to shark tooth identification, we’ve been having a FIN-tastic, chomping good time learning what makes these animals so important! Sharks aren’t something to fear, they’re something to be in jaw-e of. As key players in marine ecosystems, they help keep ocean food webs balanced and healthy in ways we’re still uncovering. Here’s to the predators that keep our seas in check and inspire the next generation of ocean stewards. 🦈🩵

What a great week of camp last week in Manahawkin! 🌊🦀 We want to give a special shoutout to two amazing local businesses who helped fuel our campers all week long. Thank you to @fusarospizzanj for their generous donation of pizzas, our campers were beyond excited (and well fed!). Swipe for this week’s coolest catches! 🌊🔬 Our campers were out on the docks pulling up all kinds of awesome critters from the bay. Fun fact: every animal has a scientific (Latin) name in addition to its common name — it’s how scientists around the world identify species precisely, no matter what language they speak! Five summers. Six for some of them. Our Beach Haven Teen crew this week has caught more fish, spotted more dolphins, and asked more questions than we can count. They all started as the campers who needed help netting their first minnow. Now they’re the ones showing the new kids how it’s done!
